Tiro Mthembu lives and breathes grassroots leadership – building community through compassion, connection, and action. As co-owner of the beloved Hampton Hub, he created more than a restaurant; it was a safe space for dialogue, healing, and activism through initiatives like Teach-In Tuesdays and men’s mental health circles. Even after its closure, Tiro’s impact ripples on through projects like the Thomson Food Collective, which nourishes students while teaching social justice. Grounded in his lived experience and deep love for community, Tiro uplifts marginalized voices and meets people where they are – with meals, advocacy, and care. A quiet force for change, he remains a pillar of strength and support in our community.
